Good Things Popping Up

Well tomorrow is my exciting radio hour premiere, granted not exactly playing my own stuff, but still a lucky opportunity. It is actually rare that someone, especially so green as me in radio, gets the chance to go on air. I just look at it as a great chance and pray i don't fuck it up. HA! I am on the air from 10 to 11pm est. So, tune in to listen to me mess up Ethiopian names. Yep, I am going to be playing mostly Ethiopian and African music.

Another great thing happened this week as well. I found out that the same guitar art project will be happening again. I called up the store to go over the possibility of doing it again this year and ta da! I am. They are only going to do 8 guitars, which this year have to be playable. It will still be a stratocaster style guitar. One of my friends will be doing this as well, with her own guitar, so we have made a date to go pilfer some flea markets this weekend. I am very excited to do this. I know exactly what i want to make. At first i had no clue, but after talking to the owner of the music store, my mind started to reel and i figured out a great idea. The guitar in the picture is what i did for last years event.

On top of good music and art, a long term project i have been working on has moved on further. I find i hit a stage in making my art and it will just sit there. I don't want to try to figure out what was wrong. So until i finally decide that i am tired of stepping over the piece for a year, it's time to tackle the problem. So I did that this weekend and now i have fairly smooth sailing for a little bit. Which is a nice change.

So all in all, i am having good art and music karma. I am not sure what i did to get this, but i am thankful no matter what. Like i have said, i am not sure what i am doing with the radio thing, but i figure just ride the ride and see where it takes me. It's at least not a scary ride and the people here are nice.
