Happy New Year

So I was playing with my new computer, nice Macbook Pro, that i got for Christmas. I thought, hey, lemme play with these fancy pant new features and i started to play with the Iweb. I tried it out was all psyched and thought, yeah, this is a fun new way to do my blog. But then being as computer illiterate that i am, i gave up and couldn't figure it out. Yeah, what a way to start the new year, eh? I am a winner. hehehe. BUT i am good and am blogging and even asking for advice from any of you that are wicked smart and know what the hell to do with it. But i think i am just going to have to stick with the same old same old and learn to love it for being what it is. No bells or whistles, but it still works and does what i need it to do. Plus since i have a laptop, i should be able to keep all my pictures and stuff organized and be able to post from where ever. So a little pat on the back and be proud, as i am keeping up with my new years tradition.

Now that i am done with my silly little rant, i wanted to share with you what i just went out to do today. Mind you, after going to bed at 3:30 am, i woke up at 10:30 am and slowly got ready, cleaned up the house a little from the mess of having a party. I went over to my boss' house for a New Years celebration. Since they are Japanese, they really celebrate the new year on the first day of the year and not have the drunken, Rock Band video game playing new year that i had. They made a huge feast. It was so tasty. Special sake, infused with some herb, lots of mochi. Now mochi, for those of you that may not know what it is, is a bean curd paste. So very stretchy. This is symbolic saying that may the year stretch out and be long and good. So you get soup with it in it, fried up as dessert, even a cute centerpiece. I love being able to experience traditional foods from people who know how to make it. Homemade traditional foods. And to have it explained to you. It makes you want to try it and experience it even more. So, go out, eat some mochi and have your year stretch out and be plentiful.
