The Kindness of Strangers

So yesterday, i was running errands. I dropped off laundry, went to sign off on the guitar art piece at the music store and picked up some items for the new apartment. Now I thought i had my wallet with me. When i got in the car, i didn't see it. I said, okay, well, no wallet. Not good, but maybe i left it at home in my stupidity. Which does tend to happen a lot lately. So of course i go back in my mind and try to think........ okay, where did i last see it? I don't even remember walking down the stairs with it. I had a massive brain fart. I couldn't even remember seeing it last.

So then i freak out. Yep, where the fuck is it? Oh my god. I have to replace all my credit cards, bank card and the dreaded LICENSE! And i don't want to go through the stupid bullshit at the DMV where the ask for 6 points of identification, which is all in the lost wallet. Then of course i go into a rant about how much i hate the Dept of Motor Vehicles. Then the phone rings. Not a number known. It was a guy asking for me and tells me he has my wallet. He said it has everything inside it and even the $5. It had ended up somehow at my old old apartment. The one where i first moved to. Someone found it and threw it on the stoop steps. Then this guy found it on there, but didn't know the name or the apartment. So he looked me up, somehow, and found my number. How fucking crazy is that! I love it! I love my neighborhood. I am constantly amazed at the fact that some person was so thoughtful and dropped it off, then another person took the time to look me up. And none of my shit was stolen. Too bad i changed my credit cards over........ oh well.

Wow...so not only did someone find it and throw it on your stoop, but then another guy contacted you! That's twice you didn't get robbed.

Shit, I would have taken your five dollars, and I know and love you...
