So at work lately, my coworker keeps asking me what i am eating. Actually most of my coworkers do that. It must be that i don't sit down with a boring PB&J. I sit down with my leftovers. One day i may have some Vietnamese food. Another day i might be eating Ethiopian food. Japanese, thai, indian..... name it, i might have sat down eating it. And every time i get this look like, what is that? then it gets picked apart and dissected. What is in it? Where did you get it? I want to be like, back off! I am eating my food. I don't give you 20 questions on your boring ass meal. So i decide to spice it up and not be mainstream in my eating. I like tasty food. I am a food snob.
What is funnier is that as a kid, i wouldn't eat anything adventurous. no veggies or fruits. no fish, but i blame that on my mom's lack of being able to cook it correctly. i was super finicky. at one point i don't think i even ate eggs. Throughout the years, i have become more adventurous. Tofu, okay, give me some. Before i would look at it like- ewww white tasteless block. Maybe this partially has to do with me cooking food as well. I like a challenge and adventure. Hell, soon i am going to tackle a Mole sauce. I had a girl try to convince me that NOONE in Mexico makes their own from scratch. I said, that is nice, i am going to. That is part of the challenge. I want to do it.
So the other week i did a cleanse, where i don't really eat much for 9 days. As a joke my one coworker says, i am going to torment you on the day you are only allowed to drink, i am going to bring in a bunch of whoppers. I was like, go for it. I hate fast food. I stopped eating fast food like 5 years ago, thank you Fast Food Nation. The he said, okay fine, i will bring in some Vietnamese/Kenyan food. I laughed, but realized that is what they think of me. Am i just a girl who eats crazy ethnic food? and by the way, where can i get me some of that Vietnamese/Kenyan food?
