So as you all may know, I have an arch nemesis. He works with me. I hate him. Hence being an arch nemesis, right? I am a good judge of character. I know whether I will like you or not rather quickly. I didn't like him from the moment I saw him...
Well he was working upstairs with me, across from me. It was one of those things where I kinda had be nice to him and show him the ropes. So I sucked it up and put my ego away and tried my hardest. Granted, if he said something stupid, it was obviously open season on his ass. And let me just say, he said stupid things all the time. He's one of those people that needs everyone to like them, the youngest in a large family. So it's a lot of- Look at me! Look at me!
Well, I am happy to say he is no longer working upstairs. He just wasn't cut out for that, even though he told my boss that he had lots of experience doing sales and that it runs in his family. What a suck up. Well it became obvious that he didn't inherit any of the skills. He can't multi-task if his life depended on it. Hell, he could barely do the one task at hand, at least not within an 8 hour period.
So he is now back downstairs and started this week. This sucks. For some reason, it went to his head. He is walking around like he is the best and can do everything in the company. He is bossy and telling people what to do and thinking he is managing the floor. This week is also when the office is getting an opportunity to go downstairs and carve. So he thinks he has a one up on all of us and points out obvious things like- Be Careful... there is sharp things down there. Yeah no shit Sherlock... give me another clue.
Well today, I had to finish a contract that he had started. I open up the information on the computer and look it over and notice that he charge certain things and didn't note about breakdowns or anything. I couldn't even find his paperwork for this job. All i could find was on the computer, which didn't have the correct information. So I go downstairs and ask him what is going on. I told him that he didn't put the correct information down and I don't know what is going on. I told him this in front of the other guys, not thinking that this is an issue. I mean hell, I need to know what is going on with HIS job. He started to get all defensive and my boss was at the top of the stairs wanting to know what was going on. I told both of them the story and said, hey i have no information on any of this and you didn't write in your proposal any of this information. He then says to me, well we didn't talk about that or we talked on the phone and the proposal wasn't final or anything. I look at him and say- The proposal tells our clients how much things cost. That is where we let them know there is a delivery fee and anything that may be not expected. We finally figure out how to rectify the problem and I send out the contract.
Well I leave early every Tuesday to go to the radio station. I get a phone call from my coworker to warn me that I was getting tattled on. He said he stood up for me and thought it was bullshit, especially since he knows how I work and knows what happened. I guess idiot boy was so upset that I "chewed" him out. He couldn't understand why i was so upset and mean to him. Like he is a little angel and did nothing wrong. My saving grace coworker said- Hey, she works hard up here and i don't blame her if she got frustrated by this. She had no information, picking up a job that had no information, and in the middle of doing her already heavy work load. She has every right to be frustrated and annoyed. The information wasn't correct. And if you thought she was being mean, well you took it wrong. She just likes thing to run smooth and does her job well. He then said, she had made mistakes, but goes out of her way when she has to right her wrong. She figures out how to fix it and make the client happy. He then said to my boss- am i right? Which then my boss agreed. He agreed with everything my wonderous coworker said. Basically shooting down idiot boy.
Supposedly, he is going to talk to me tomorrow about it. He thinks he got chewed out yesterday...pfft... just wait asshole. Oh and he did tattle on the guys downstairs saying that they weren't working as hard as they could. Guess his momma didn't have time to teach him that noone likes a tattle tale.

Argh! There is no escape for you! Wherever your nemesis goes he haunts you. ;)
Hey how about this proposal. Send his ass out here to SF and I'll take him to my favorite coffee shop on Market and i'm sure he'll get a lot of attention. I'll even videotape it.
You know you are in my top 5!
Please Let me know the date and time the next time you have a slot at WFMU. I'd love to hear that! And how about a shout out, if appropriate.
Peace
