There is a smile as big as the Cheshire Cat on my face right now. I got the message right before the train pulled out of the station. I could barely contain my happiness. The kind where you see someone breakout into a huge smile, as though they are thinking of a loving thought or are reminded of something that just happened moments ago. I got an email from the radio station. The station manager FINALLY listened to my podcast that I had been doing. He said:
I'm listening to the Time episode you recorded and you sound really good! I will add you to the late night fill-in list, but how do you feel about doing 3-4 hour long shows? Is that something you're interested in, or did you want to stick to one hour thematic shows?
Like Sally Field said in accepting her Academy award- You like me.... you really really like me! It is the first recognition i have received from someone other than close friends and family. It is from someone who does this for a living. I am just happy to be a fill in for the time being. It's a step towards something more of my own. How come good and bad things come in waves? Can't they equal themselves out? Like, wow, I had a shitty day... oh hey, there is a twenty dollar bill on the ground!
