So I am watching the HBO John Adams mini-series. I am enjoying it. For some strange reason, I have become more interested in history as i have gotten older. I am not sure why, but I find it intriguing. Even when we go on vacations, I find I am fascinated by the history of where we were and want to learn as much as possible. I noticed this when i went to Moscow. I was soaking it up. Every museum we went in, though it was all in Russian, I would look up what things were or put together things like pieces of a puzzle. It's part of that problem solving thing that I love so much and what makes me a sculptor. I love knowing what happened and actually SEEING artifacts. Even as a kid, sitting in a classroom, I would be bored with someone preaching to me history. Take me there and let me see what happened. let me envision it. Note how visual I was back then.......
So as my old age history interest has gone into play, I was interested in the mini series. (that and HBO does a good job with their shows anyways). Anywho, after only watching the first two episodes, I fell in love with Abigail Adams. She was an amazing woman. She was a woman of the 21st Century stuck back in the 18th Century. As a wealthy household, they did not believe in slavery. They took care of their farm on their own. The family did all the work. She had a lot of influence in what John Adams was doing and wanted to go into Congress and tell the men from Pennsylvania what needs to be done. She had her children inoculated against the pox, when it was not a common or popular thing to do. She's the Ye Olde Hillary Clinton, but i feel much better.
I was just amazed at her being as strong and open during that time period. I found her ahead of her time and influential. So, i suggest you all take notice. The wonders of history..... can't wait to see what other treasures i unearth......

I love Abigail! I said the same thing about her and C says that there have been many wonderful, influential and highly revered women just like her throughout history. I think I'll have to look into that!
oh, and welcome back Wonder Twin! Where are those pictures??
