Ahhhhhh, i love Coney Island. It's so amazing. So much history and character. How dare they think of tearing it down for luxury condos. What the fuck?! This place rules. We had an outing there this past Saturday. To take on Coney Island before they tear it down. We arrive at around 11 am. The funny thing is that it isn't even open yet. The only thing running is the Wonder Wheel. So of course, we hop on it. Damn that thing is scary. There are moving cars and stationary ones. And who in their right mind would pick stationary? Besides little old ladies going on with their grandkids. The first drop is the scariest. you grab onto the car with white knuckles. and you swing and swing, really high. From the view up top, we noticed how much has already been taken away. We were planning on riding the go karts there and looked down to see that the track is long gone and all that is left is a lot that has a banner saying- The future of Coney Island. If that is the future, then i am more than sad.
We decided it's time for the Cyclone, but it wasn't open yet, so we walked down the boardwalk to the pier. Next to the pier on the beach are two men being dressed up as Sumo wrestlers. One is a big guy and the other is a little guy. Now, being that this is New York, it does take a bit to surprise me. But it was funny to see a photo assistant having to adjust their "diapers". From the pier, there was a nice wind and beautiful view. How could they tear this down.
Finally the Cyclone is open. So we go for a ride and then decided it's time for lunch. mmmmm, fresh tacos. I had no deep fried anything the entire time i was there. That is really amazing actually. I like deep fried stuff. But these tacos were sooo tasty. Way better than the other food i was seeing.
We went to the Freak show. I love the freak show. Well, two parts of it actually. The human blockhead part and the girl that eats fire. I want to eat fire. I have wanted to do that for a long long time. I know, i am strange, but shit! What a great thing to be able to do! and it's sexy as all hell! One day i will know how to do it and amaze you all! And the guy that was announcing the acts was the human blockhead too. He was really funny and good and my friend Jess and i had the hots for him. Something about pounding a nail into your nose......
We met up with other friends after and had some beers and talked. It was so nice. We all decided to go on the Cyclone again, cause it is the best damn wooden roller coaster in the entire world. I swear that thing is going to fall down one day when i am riding on it. Hell, that thing is a landmark. I love the Cyclone. I love it so damn much. You can see me and my friends with their hands up going down.
Then it was time to go home. This white skinned girl had enough sun and needed rest. It was the best. I fucking LOVE Coney Island.
